Inspired By Place – a Mini Quilt Workshop with Samantha Boot

Take a day to breathe and focus on hand stitching your own mini quilt. Take inspiration from your favourite place or memory and your tutor, textile artist Samantha Boot will help you transform your memory into a textile artwork to treasure.

This really is a day to enjoy a moment of calm in like-minded company with good food to nourish both body and soul. This workshop is suitable for those new to stitching as well as those more accomplished.

All materials will be provided by the tutor, but if you can source fabric scraps and threads that link with your favourite place or memory, your finished piece will be embodied with more meaning. It is also important that you bring a photograph or sketch to work from as well as a basic sewing kit.

Samantha will help you to notice motifs and themes that appear and how to interpret these with cloth and stitch. All stitching will be done by hand so some dexterity is required.

This workshop is fully catered with a lovely lunch and plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits.
