We are tentatively blinking in the light of post lockdown life, and the thought of gathering our textile clan back to The Shed is so exciting. We are both super keen to be as safe as we can with masks, hand sanitiser, and no more than 5 students+ tutor in the workshop at once. With knitting and weaving classes underway again, it’s momentous that we can now also run Saturday workshops in person, and with our lovely big space and with the big loom door open, there is plenty of room and fresh air to maintain social distancing.
We are excited about our felt flower workshop with Geralding Field on the 29th May. A perfect way to learn a new skill or revisit felt-making. We also still have 1 place remaining on our felt gift bag making workshop on the 12th June with Belinda Delany.
We are also keen we keep using the technology that has brought us closer to our tribe in the UK over the months of lockdown. It has meant our international friends could join us. In June, we have three exciting online events coming up
5th June – we are delighted Janet Phillips will be sharing the details of her new book – ‘Exploring Woven Textiles’ with us
19th June – This is our first online Textiles Graduate Day. 6 talks from graduates of 2021 about their collections for graduation. It is promising to be an exciting day of talks about weave specialist degrees.
26th June This is another first, also online, Our Annual Natural Dyes Symposium. We are delighted to be joined by Aviva Leigh, Isabella Whitworth Luisa Aribe, Luisa Aribe, and Susan Dye.
Hopefully see you soon, either virtually or even in person!
