Introduction to Weaving with Louise Cottey

Enjoy a day at a loom to beat the winter blues.

Have you always wanted to try weaving? Or have you tried weaving with a frame or rigid heddle loom, but never tried a four shaft loom? This is the perfect opportunity. Take a day to yourself and relax with us at The Loom Shed.

We will set up the loom for you and give you all the resources and tuition you need to be able to explore the relationship between colour, texture and structure in woven textiles. Learn the tricks of the trade to make a fabric that feels nice and doesn’t pull in at the sides. Do be warned though, this may leave you wanting to weave more!

All equipment and yarn will be provided with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. A nourishing lunch will be provided too.
