We are hopefully only 5 weeks away from being able to host classes for groups of 5 again (that makes 6 including the tutor – for the inside rule of six). We’re busy getting all the prep work done, to get the doors opened up it’s starting to feel very exciting.
We’ve been painting the walls with knitting patterns, adding our weave draft board and putting the finishing touches to the tentering board. Both beginner Knitting and Crochet classes will restart from 17th May, along with our weekly Weaving classes (contact us if you’d like to join the waiting list)
We’re really excited about our West Country Weavers Day (24th April) when 4 great weavers will be sharing their textiles practices with us- You don’t need to be an expert weavers to join us. It will be a great day.
We’ve also got a great Back Strap Weaving course (1st May) coming up with the amazing weaver and colourist Angie Parker. This is a great way to learn a bit more about weaving for beginners and also great for weavers who would like to have the excuse to weave outside! ( I have visions of uninterrupted time weaving sat in the sun!)
We’re being joined on the 12th May by Brigette from Beekay Makes for her talk and demonstration about nettle fibre This event will be videoed, so if you can’t join us on the 12th, you can still buy a ticket for video access at a time that suits you.
Saturday 29th May sees us start our in person events, with Felt Flower making with Geraldine Field. We have 5 spaces available and all equipment and a light lunch is included.
It’s exciting to have such a line up of events – we really hope that you can join us for some/ all of them.
